The problem

Students in the middle of a problem keep landing on calculators that are fake, buried in ads, or only show the answer.

What we built

  • A Casio-style scientific calculator with 8 modes and exact results (√8 stays 2√2), in 15 languages.
  • 25 tools, from graphing and matrices to subnets and GPA, built on shared engines and checked automatically before every release.
  • A Chrome side-panel extension and embeddable widgets, generated from the same code as the site.

About WideMath

WideMath is a free collection of 25 calculators and math tools that run in the browser, with no account and nothing to install. We built it for students, engineers and teachers who need an answer they can trust, and who want to see how it was worked out.

The flagship is the free online scientific calculator, a Casio-style calculator modelled on the fx-991ES PLUS. It has eight modes (COMP, CMPLX, STAT, BASE-N, EQN, MATRIX, TABLE and VECTOR) and keeps exact answers as fractions and surds, so 0.1 + 0.2 shows 3/10. It is available in 15 languages, and it can be installed as an app and used offline.

Around it sit tools for other subjects: a graphing calculator and a 3D grapher, derivative and integral calculators with steps, a matrix calculator, and engineering tools such as a subnet calculator and a voltage drop calculator. Students in Nepal use the NEB GPA calculator for Class 11 and 12 results, and there are TI-36X Pro and BA II Plus style calculators too.

The same code powers a Chrome side-panel extension and free widgets that teachers and bloggers can embed on their own pages. In the week of 10 to 16 October 2026 the site had 19,464 sessions, 73 percent of them from Google search.
