Feed Philly Coalition
Website and articles for a Philadelphia coalition working on food insecurity.

The problem
A coalition of nonprofits, businesses and community groups needed one place to explain its work, publish articles and bring in volunteers.
What I built
- A new site in February 2025, with pages for the coalition’s work, the people it serves and how to get involved.
- A content editor the team uses to publish articles without code.
- An August 2026 overhaul for speed, accessibility and search: lighter pages, stronger contrast, structured data and real photos.
Where it is now

About Feed Philly Coalition
Feed Philly Coalition brings together nonprofits, businesses, government, schools, healthcare and community leaders to tackle food insecurity in Philadelphia. Its work covers policy advocacy, community awareness, collaboration and education programs.
I built the coalition’s website in February 2025 and still run it. It explains what the coalition does, who it serves and how to get involved, and its articles on food insecurity number 21 so far. The team publishes through a content editor, so a new article needs no code. I am listed on the coalition’s team as its technical lead.
In August 2026 I overhauled the site. The home page now loads a fifth of the JavaScript it did, buttons meet contrast standards, every page has its own title and description, and structured data tells search engines about the organisation and its articles. I also replaced the generated imagery on the main pages with real photos. The site runs on Astro and Tailwind CSS, hosted on Netlify.
