Dishmo
Food discovery where prices are real and scores come from paid meals.

The problem
Food ratings are easy to game, and prices stay hidden until you sit down.
What we built
- Search a dish and compare prices, each one dated and sourced.
- Scores that only count meals people say they paid for: one verdict per person, new accounts count less, sudden bursts get flagged.
- Creator disclosures shown next to the score, on open maps from OpenStreetMap.
Where it is now
In development, starting with Kathmandu.
Built with
Expo (one app for iPhone, Android and web), Fastify, PostgreSQL, MapLibre
About Dishmo
Dishmo is a food discovery app we are building for the Kathmandu valley. Search a dish, such as chicken momo under 200 rupees, and it lists what each place charges, with the source and date of every price, so you know the cost before you sit down.
Its scores only count meals that reviewers say they paid for themselves. Each person counts once, with their latest verdict; new accounts count for less; and a warning appears when a burst of fresh accounts rates the same place. Food creators appear beside the score, never inside it, with a label that shows what they disclosed, such as a paid collaboration or a gifted meal.
Dishmo is one Expo app for iPhone, Android and the web, with a Fastify and PostgreSQL backend. Maps use MapLibre with OpenFreeMap tiles and place data from OpenStreetMap. It is in development and not yet released.
