Macaque and her young, Swayambhunath

A macaque mother holds her baby close in the soft light at Swayambhunath.

A macaque sits upright on a stone and wraps her arms around her baby, whose face and one ear peek out from her chest. Soft, warm light glows through the blurred green trees behind them. Macaques live in large numbers around Swayambhunath, the hilltop temple in Kathmandu.
